Structures

One of the workshops that all of the students had the opportunity to partake in was the one related to structures.

After a little theory on what keeps structures up and what makes them strong, the students were given the task to construct an egg-drop structure. The goal of this project was to construct something that would allow an egg to be released from a set height above the ground. This same structure was also to be responsible for ensuring that the egg could sustain the fall with enough success to be used in the omelettes to be had the next morning. How's that for motivation?

Most of the structures managed to meet the design criteria and none of the students was obliged to fast the following morning.

Below are some pictures taken of one of the groups in the structures workshop.
