The Community of Kangiqsualujjuaq

Science camp 2000 would not have become a reality without the support of a lot of people and organizations. One of these organizations is the community of Kangiqsualujjuaq. The community has welcomed us and has given us all the support we have needed to run the science camp.

Kangiqsualujjuaq is a small community on the Ungava Bay in the Nunavik part of the province of Quebec. It is located on the shores of the George River. Surrounded by mountains and water which rises and falls with the tides, Kangiqsualujjuaq has been an idyllic setting for the science camp. The natural beauty of the land has shone through despite the adverse weather conditions we experienced during the week.

As a little acknowledgement to the community, are a few pictures taken of the surrounding area and some of the local residents. Thank-you Kangiqsualujjuaq, you have been very gracious hosts!
